Based on the decision of the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Informatics at Eötvös Loránd University, newly admitted students are only eligible for a tuition fee refund if they fully withdraw their intention to start the programme and submit a refund request before the end of the registration period of the relevant semester.

Please note that fluctuations in the exchange rate between the euro and the Hungarian forint may result in differences in the refunded amount. 

After submitting the refund data sheet via email, please allow up to 12 weeks for the committee’s decision. The processing of the refund may take up to 120 calendar days. 

If the refund request is submitted before the end of the registration period: 

• In case of personal reasons: 90% refund (10% administrative fee) 

• In case of visa rejection or delayed embassy appointment: 95% refund (5% administrative fee) 

• Transitional provision: in case of withdrawal and submission of the refund request by 30 June 2025, a 100% refund will be granted. 

If the refund request is submitted after the end of the registration period: 

• Termination of student status before 15 October / 15 March: 90% of the tuition fee will be refunded; 10% must be paid and will be deducted. 

• Until the end of the study term: 30% will be refunded; 70% must be paid and will be deducted. 

• After the end of the study term: the full tuition fee is payable and no refund can be granted. 

Exceptional circumstances (e.g., the death of a close relative) may be subject to individual assessment based on properly documented requests.
