According to the Hungarian Higher Education Act (2011) disability covers persons with:

  • visual impairment (blindness, low vision, partial sight)
  • hearing impairment (deafness, hard of hearing, cochlea implant)
  • physical disability
  • specific learning difficulties and neurodevelopmental disorders (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ADHD)
  • speech impairment or language disorders
  • Autism-spectrum disorder

Any international students with a disability should register via faculty disability coordinator. A Recommended Reasonable Adjustments (RRA) report will be written by the university disability coordinator detailing your disability, its effects upon your academic performance and recommended support.

According to the Hungarian Higher Educaton Act (87/2015), any special needs have to be certified with an appropriate, official medical/psychological/special educational diagnostic evidence of your disability in English or in Hungarian (official translation is needed) The document needs to be sent via Email to the faculty coordinators (eselyegyenloseg@inf.elte.hu). This means that your submitted document should be

  • an official and legal document of the hospital/doctor/psychiatrist/psychologist/special educational professional,
  • stamped with the official stamp of the hospital/doctor/psychiatrist/psychologist/special educational professional,
    a medical doctor should have a stamp with her name, a specialized medical field and license number. The stamp should contain all this information.

This document should contain the personal data of the student I.e. name, date of birth (with birthplace), mother's name, address.
